Hello,
She could perhaps inquire with Ven. Vivekananda, who lived and was trained in Burma at

Hope that helps,

Subject: [Pali] Need help with Burmese Tamarind Seed Script
To: Pali@yahoogroups.com
Date: Sunday, February 15, 2009, 1:39 AM
Dear Pali Group,
A Japanese friend is attempting to translate a kammavaca panel written
in old Burmese Tamarind Seed Script into English. Modern Burmese is
usually written as a three-layered line whereas Tamarind Script is
usually written as a two-layered line.
She says her problem is how to convert the two-layer script into a
three-layer script. Thus, she "...needs to know the ABCs of tamarind
seed script and the Burmese-Pali writing rule."
And, if some has a tamarind script "...with the compatible Romanized
Pali" to share, it would be of great help to her.
She has sent a request to the National Museum of Ethnology in Osaka
but has not heard from them. And, Internet searches have only
produced sites relating to modern Burmese.
Can any one suggest a link, book or reference material to help her?
Thank you and Metta,
DFung
