I hadn't thought of them drying the berries or grapes. Just seems bizarre
unless they never intend to go back to be cutting down all the grape vines
or unless they were just cutting the thing bendable stuff for baskets. On
the first voyage, there was a Saxon along who said he remembered grapes from
where he was born so he would have known something about them. LN, you are
probably right that it was the Saga writers who had no knowledge of them and
describe them bringing it home. It could have been just a sample the way
Leif brought back a bit of maple wood.
