I have read in several sources that the scandinavian people have a tradition
very similar to the swiss or alpine yodelng. Being of swiss decent, an
amature yodeler, and very interested in scandinavian history and culture, i
would be very interested to hear what you may know of this. How similar to
classic swiss yodeling is it?
It is my impression that the norse yodel is similar to the swiss yodel in
origin, in that it is a call used for cattle and othe livestock. (believe
me, yodels carry over a very long distance without losing much volume!)
I would be very interested in learning of this tradition.
