Ack! In the words of Gandalf the Grey: "Do not tempt me." It´s not
going to be finished in time for them though anyway. Still, who
knows, maybe the wedding will be put off again. If not, no fear: I
can always go for one of the queen's TWO BIRTHDAYS. There are
plenty of occasions. But I think I've got a way to go to get my
head around all these metrical rules.

What does this mean: "Þegar hafa borist allnokkur kvæði en lengi má
gott bæta!" Is it that there´s always room for more poems, or every
possibility that someone can improve on the ones they´ve got? I
also found the variant 'alltaf má gott bæta'. The contexts seem to
be that even if things are good, there's always "room for
improvement", or some way in which things could be better. But I
might be jumping to conclusions here.
