My point is that *akWa:  'river, running water', a Krahe's Alteuropäische hydronym, is a word borrowed from a pre-IE substrate language of Western Europe, probably related to the NEC family (cf. Proto-NEC *jimx'_wA> 'river').

Basque i-bai 'river' is also related to the NEC word.
