As the Picts seem to have been a Brittonic-speaking people, it would be
a case of borrowing _among_ the Celts. Did your friend seriously suggest
that the culture of the Scottish Picts exerted such strong influence
also on the Gauls and other continental Celts? Doesn't he believe, by
any chance, that Scotland was the Celtic Urheimat? ;-)
