Celts

I was talking a guy from the SCA, and he was telling me a theory I had
never heard before.
He said that things we associate with ancient Celtic culture, such as
lime washed hair, checked/striped/Plaid clothing, woad painting
originated amongst the Picts, and that the Celts borrowed all these
things from them. He also said that there were originally 13 Celtic
tribes in Ireland, and that the Celtic peoples spread out from these 13
tribes eastward to the rest of Europe (opposite of what is conventionally
accepted).

I didn't buy into any of this, but I just thought it was interesting
because of how unconventional everything he said was.
