true, but there are more fundamental issues that need
to be address on Linux.

I started playing aorund with Linux again recently for
soem African languages, esp now that it is possible to
use keyman source files with KMFL and SCIM to type.

Managed to get imput working using various keyman
source files i've written over the years.
Unfortunately it wasn't possible to get text to
display correctly that required the use of combining
diacritics.

I'll have to wait until font rendering on linux is
more mature and more comprehensive.
