In a word, Bad. I'm no expert at all, on the underlying code for a
character picker, but... IE is considered by experts to be a serious
security risk, and using it routinely when other browsers are available is
more or less foolhardy. It also, in part, fails to follow standards.
Seems that there is no good, compelling reason to make such an application
IE-specific.

Linux is being adopted in third-world countries that can't generally
afford Microsoft OSes and other software. Making such apps. IE-specific
has real social consequences.

I generally refrain from sociopolitical commentary, but I do feel that
this is of sufficient importance to bring up the matter. Unfortunately,
this might start a thread of Lord knows how many messages; I apologize for
that.
