I found it both sad and fascinating that the Millenium (sic)
Hotel in NYC went into business with a misspelled name.
Nevertheless, the defacement (or worse) that the WTC collapse
did to it was not deserved.
In all, I have become aware of about six or seven companies
that went into business with misspelled names, not counting
the numerous small businesses on Waverley Oaks Road in
Waltham; the latter tend to spell their company names
"Waverly".
One (of the six or so) was funny: The intent was to be
Megiddo Enterprises, but it came out as Meggido, which could
be pronounced "meggy-doo".
I'm deeply troubled by what seems to be unnecessary sub-
literacy, but this is not the List for that; recommendations?
