Hi Balaji,

The abbreviation Abh-ṭ stands for Abhidhānappadīpikā-ṭīḳā. I’m not sure if it‘s in the PDR but it’s in the CST4 set of texts. The Abhidhānappadīpikā or Abh is the oldest extant Pali dictionary (12th c.) and is along the same lines as the Amarakoṣa (Am-k) whose commentaries provide useful Paṇinian etymologies. The author of Am-k is thought to have been a Buddhist (4th-8th c.).

Best,

Jim

Hi Jim,

What is Abh-t? I don’t know that abbreviation.

Your findings seem very interesting. I just wanted to read it myself.

Thanks,

Balaji
