Vehapphala

Hello,

I would like to know the etymology of vehaa in vehapphala, the
designation of a class of brahmaa gods whose plane is attained through
developing the fourth jhaana. Perhaps vehaa is from the root vah, i.e.
“carrying the fruit (of good kamma)”?
Buddhaghosa's etymology at M-a I 35 is “vipulaa phalaati vehapphalaa” :
“abundant fruit: vehapphalaa,” but I can't see a relation between veha
and vipulaa.
Is there a (Buddhist hybrid) Sanskrit equivalent?
I assume that the word is vehaa because this would explain the doubling
of the p of phala. Cp. ta.nhakkhaya/ta.nhaakhaya.

Best wishes,
Bhikkhu Nyanatusita
