Dhammapadaṃ, 2. Appamādavaggo (Carefulness), Verse 29

appamatto pamattesu | suttesu bahujāgaro ||
abalassaṃva sīghasso | hitvā yāti sumedhaso || 29 ||

29. Earnest among the thoughtless, awake among the sleepers,
       the wise man advances like a racer, leaving behind the hack.
