Dhammapadaṃ, 2. Appamādavaggo (Carefulness), Verse 26

pamādamanuyuñjanti | bālā dummedhino janā ||
appamādañca medhāvī | dhanaṃ seṭṭhaṃva rakkhati || 26 ||

26. Fools follow after vanity, men of evil wisdom.
