He is talking about aha.mkaara and mam.mkaara which simply means "I-making" and "mine-making". The Buddha uses this term quite often in the suttas. Aha.mkaara is also a synonym for selfishness (see PED): -- kāra selfishness, egotism, arrogance (see also mamaŋkāra) M iii.18, 32; S ii.253; iii.80, 136, 169 sq.; iv.41,
197, 202; A i.132 sq.; iii.444; Ud 70; Nett 127, and
freq. passim.

Ajahn Geoff talks about "I-making and my-making" as a translation of a
Pali phrase I am not familiar with.

I am getting this from his lecture on Anatta (

of 3)), so I can only guess at the Pali spelling, but it seems to be
"ahangala mamungala"(at 1 minute 24 seconds into the talk).

Can someone give me the proper Pali spelling and references to where
this phrase is used in the suttas? I do not recall reading this phrase
(English, I don't read Pali) in a sutta.
