Dear friends

Nayavipassanaa is translated by Nyanamoli and Nyanaponika Thra as 'Inductive Insight' while others translate it as 'methodical Insight'. Though PED gives the meaning of inference to Naya, it does not cite nayavipassanaa as an example. Is there any other solid reason, grammatical or philosophical, to take naya as inference?
