Yes, narachon in Thai is not so elevated. I read too much into the text.
I am glad you reminded me of metre, those are specific problems I know so
little about.
I am also very grateful for your interesting glosses on attasammaapa.nidhi,
and this is very clear now. I have the Guide and shall look up the passage
on the Wheel sutta.
