N: Could you give the name of the sutta. Is it AN, 1, 20?
B: According to my knowledge 1 Asamo = No one can match with the Buddha
N: asamo: incomparable
B: 2 Asamasamo =
> Buddha can match only with another Buddha.
: samasamo is: exactly the same, thus asamasamo: not exactly the same.
Perhaps as you say?
B: 3 Appatimo = No one
> can make Statues of Buddha .( or Don't make statues of Buddha.)
N: I could not find this word in the dictionary. The Buddha did not forbid
statues, but during several centuries after his parinibbana no statues were
made.
B: ( According to Buddha's teachings there should not be any statue of
Buddha

N: There is a danger of idol worship or superstition, or using it as an
amulet. It depends on people's understanding. When they understand the
Buddha's good qualities the statue can remind them of these.
Nina.
