Dear Nina, John and friends,
it is an excellent idea. And, yes, there is enough room for another
thread. I have actually design Pali Day and Day and Pali Word by
Word (and all the changes made with suggestions from Dimitry) as
well as Sutta Translation in a way that these threads will not over-
crowd the list.
I am sure many members, including myself would be eager to go
through the book. In fact, it is one of the few that I have brought
to Brisbane. This book is also in the "book list" for Pali Day by
Day, which purpose is to provide answers to Pali textbooks. (I have
already set up a placeholder page here:
http://www.tipitaka.net/pali/palidd/ )
To accommodate those who like to work through both books in
parallel, I would suggest that we run the thread on alternate days.
I hope that you will go through it slowly, like a year or so, for
the book, considering the fact that many like myself are beginners
and are learning Pali at a slow self-study pace. I am not the
ambitious type to finish the book a chapter per week, but would
rather have more time for full understanding before moving on.
metta,
Yong Peng
