When Olaf's ship was furnished than (the) king accompanies Olaf to (the) ship and gave him a spear inlaid-with-gold and an ornamented sword and much other wealth.
Ólafur beiddist að flytja fóstru Melkorku á brott með sér.
Olaf requested-on-his-own-behalf to convey Melkorka's nurse away with him.

Stigu þeir Ólafur á skip sitt og skiljast þeir konungur með allmikilli vináttu.
They, Olaf and company, went (literally, "stepped") on board their ship and they parted-company with very-great friendship.
Eftir það sigla þeir Ólafur á haf.
After that they, Olaf and company, sail to sea.
Þeim byrjaði vel og tóku Noreg og er Ólafs för allfræg, setja nú upp skipið.
They had a good voyage and reached Norway and Olaf's journey is very-famous, draw the ship ashore.
Fær Ólafur sér hesta og sækir nú á fund Haralds konungs með sínu föruneyti.
Olaf gets himself horses and goes now to see King Harald with his company.
Útkoma Ólafs
Ólafur Höskuldsson kom nú til hirðar Haralds konungs og tók konungur honum vel en Gunnhildur miklu betur.
Hoskuld's son Olaf came now to King Harald's bodyguard and (the) king greeted him well and Gunnhild much better.
Þau buðu honum til sín og lögðu þar mörg orð til.
They invited him and talked much about (his trip) (not sure about this last part, especially as the Z. reference I found doesn't match this completely). (Z. bjóða 3 - to bid, invite (b. e-m til sín)) (Z. leggja 14 - l. e-t til orðs, to talk about)
Ólafur þiggur það og fara þeir Örn báðir til konungs hirðar.
Olaf accepts that and they both, Orn (and Olaf), go to (the) king's bodyguard.
Leggur konungur og Gunnhildur svo mikla virðing á Ólaf að engi útlendur maður hafði slíka virðing af þeim þegið.
(The) king and Gunnhild make so much of Olaf that no foreign man had received from them such honor. (Z. virðing 2 - leggja v. á e-n, to make much of one)
Ólafur gaf konungi og Gunnhildi marga fáséna gripi er hann hafði þegið á Írlandi vestur.
Olaf gave (the) king and Gunnhild much rare treasures which he had received in west Ireland.
Haraldur konungur gaf Ólafi að jólum öll klæði skorin af skarlati.
King Harald gave Olaf at Yule clothes all cut from scarlet (cloth).

Olaf requests-on-his-own-behalf leave from the king to go out to Iceland during the summer, "I have to visit there," he says, "noble kinsmen." (Z. vitja - with gen., v. frænda sinna, to visit one's kinsmen)
Konungur svarar: "Það væri mér næst skapi að þú staðfestist hér með mér og tækir hér allan ráðakost slíkan sem þú vilt sjálfur."
(The) king answers: "That would be to my mind that you took up your abode here with me and take here all such way-of-life as you wanted (for your-) self. (Z. skap 2 - vera nær skapi e-s, to be to one's mind)
