Here it's the preterite infinitive. You can see a few other
examples of the construction at the end of the first
paragraph of CV s.v. <munu>. If you have Barnes, _A New
Introduction to Old Norse_, you'll find this discussed in
3.9.4, Accusative and infinitive, especially p. 239.
