On the contrary! It is most practical. As one who still has waistlength hair in my 50s - it keeps it from getting tangled in the wind.

Hi Patricia

Having never had my hair much beyond shoulder length, I wasn’t quite sure tucking one’s hair under one’s belt was a likely way to wear one´s hair. It sounds rather uncomfortable to me.

Thank you Alan for the Italicised bits - points taken!! they will come in handy.

Excuse me - I do not know why you underlined the bit about draping her hair under her belt.

It has already been mentioned that her hair was so plentiful that she might wrap herself in it

well - with the assistance of her attiring women  - since doubtless it was so long she might

sit on it, I would say that she had them brush her hair smoothly forward and then put on her

silver belt around waist and hair together.

Such hair as then seemed to be like a garment to her,  time was - I wore my own hair in

such a way as in winter  it was as a scarf,  you pony tail it first then drape it round ones neck

and brush it smooth.
