Hrafmkell now moved his farm east over Flotsdal Heath and across Fljotsdal to

Towards (Gordon) the end of the Lake stood a small farm which was called Lokhilla

This was an extensive (Gordon) forested area (with) poor buildings and for (because of)

Hrafnkell (through the winter ) raised (had) calves and kids in that first season

and he held (on) well as far as evey living thing was under his responsibility (bit of guesswork here)

It might as much  be said there were nearly two heads on every animal

630 því sama sumri lagðisk veiðr mikil í Lagarfljót. Af slíku
gerðisk mönnum búshœgindi í heraðinu, ok þat helzk vel
hvert sumar.

At that same summer (there came in) a great catch in Lagarfljot  (sould have been salmon ?)

Such things improved the living of many in the district

and this continued well into every summer

 

I thought I saw the word good hunting translated, but you hardly hunt fish so considered - a great catch

well, it was a lake

Also I thought HIS fisherman because he was scarcely populat at this time and I doubt anyone wanting to help

He got lucky and I still feel Sam will regret being so merciful
