Haustlöng and is translated as friend (hugreynandi Honis - Hoenir's friend).
This one kind of has me stumped. I am guessing a compound word composed of
hugr and reynd?

What would be the rationale behind translating that as "friend?" Any idea?
While I am thinking about it, would you mind outlining the basic rules you
gave out here, a while a go, for compound words. If I recall correctly, was
it that the first word in the compound should be in either accusative or
genitive?
