Hi Laurel!

Good to hear from you!  No problems about being behind, you just do it as it suits you!

Especially when you translate it so accurately there is nothing for me to comment on!!

Bye for now,
Sarah.

ps.  I like the way you do the-literal-translations-first.  I think that's a clever way to make sure you don't make mistakes with the grammar.  I shall try that when I get back to college in the autumn.  Thanks!

Sorry, I'm so far behind.  Hope you don't mind if I post it this late.  Would like to keep doing it, though you've probably already answered any questions.  I'll check what you posted to the others before I hit send.... I still don't know verb tenses, so I'll just make it whatever seems to fit.

Boðvarr Bjarki  lines 20 – 29

Bơðvarr mælti  “Ekki muntu fá skjaldborgina lengr.”

BQðvarr - said - not - shall you - have/make use of - the shieldwall - longer

Bodvarr said, "You shall no longer have the shieldwall."

--------------------------------------------

Hơttr mælti ok grét “Skaltu nú bana mér, bokki sæll?”

HQttr - said - and - he wept - you shall/ought/must - now - kill - me - fellow - fortunate

Hood said, and he wept, "Will you kill me now, dear bucko?"

--------------------------------------------------

Bơðvarr bað hann ekki hafa hátt, tók hann upp síðan ok bar hann út ór hơllinni ok til vatns nơkkurs sem þar var í nánd, ok gáfu fáir at þessu gaum, ok þó hann upp allan.

BQðvarr - asked - him - not - to get - loud, seized - him - up - afterwards - and - bore - him - out - from - the hall - and - to - water/lake - a certain - which - there - was - in - proximity, and - gave - few - at - this - attention, and - washed - him - up - all the way.

Bodvarr commanded him not to make a scene, picked him up then and carried him out from the hall and to a certain lake which was there nearby, and few paid any attention to this, and cleaned him up thoroughly.

---------------------------------------------------

Síðan gekk Bơðvarr til þess rúms sem hann hafði áðr tekit, ok leiddi eptir sér Hơtt ok þar setr hann Hơtt hjá sér.

Afterwards - walked - BQðvarr - to - this - space/seat - which - he - had - before/first - taken, and - led - after/behind - himself - HQttr - and - there - placed/set - he - HQttr - beside - himself.

Then Bodvarr walked to the same seat which he had taken before, leading Hood behind him, and he sat Hood there beside him.

-----------------------------------------------

En hann er svá hræddr at skelfr á honum leggr ok liðr, en þó þykkisk hann skilja at þessi maðr vill hjálpa sér.

But - he - was - so - afraid - that - he trembled - in - his - bone - and - joint, but - nevertheless - seemed - he - to understand - about - this - man - intending - to help - himself

But he was so afraid that he trembled in every limb, but nevertheless he seemed to understand that this man wanted to help him.
