Let me try this a different way. Here's the sentence in question. How does
this break down gramatically?

Mjög er bráður sá er á bröndum skal síns um freista frama
2.
Gefendur heilir!
Gestur er inn kominn!
hvar skal sitja sjá?
Mjög er bráður
sá er á bröndum skal
síns um freista frama.

How does this sentence break down grammatically? I'm not even sure what the
subject is. I *think* it's sá.

Mjög er bráður sá er á bröndum skal síns um freista frama

Mjög - adv. (1)much, greatly, (2) very

er - verb, is

bráður - in haste, eager? What part of speach is this? What declension is
involved?

sá - dem. pron., that person, he, the one who.

er - verb, is?

á - prep. on, toward, up to.

bröndum - brandr n. brand. pl. dative.

skal - v. shall

síns - compound sín er, himself is.

um - prep. with acc. around, with dat. over

freista - v. (1) tempt (2) try

frama - frami? n. luck?

Here are the definitions I pulled from Zoëga:
