I began my studies from an old Swedish calandar and learned runes
from my great grandmother. As time went on, I not only studied every
form of Runic "writing" of Europe, I fell prey to the languages
involved. "Old Norse" being the most prevelant.
This of course was long before the age of computers. So my intrest
was spawned to find and compile every word/phrase/name I could
catalog that was ancient Nordic/Germanic and Gaelic (mostly to find
connections). I hand wrote several ON "dictionaries" (texts and
words from books locked away at the Nevada State Library). This was
a feat carried over some 27 years of study.
I am more than fluent in every known form of Runic inscription,
though, I only know the rudementary layout of sentance stucture
(mostly based on inept translators who looked for more equivilant
English versions).
I am really interested in your group. It has been a long time
since I have heard of anyone interested in this field.
Though, I am studying a more ancient form of the languages and the
connection between them all, I would really appreciate to continue to
work and learn from what you all know, and be more than willing to
share what I know (my needs obviously outweigh yours).
Please, let me know.
I am so glad to find a group that is not dragging down our Nordic
culture.
