I must confess that your construction is not immediately
clear to me. "tala" = to speak, from which you obtain
the p.p. "talaðr" = spoken. And it is true that in
English the combination "spoken excercises" would work.
But I am less sure if it would work in Old Norse.
My guess is that in ON you would use the infinitive of
the verb and then combine your two elements into ONE
word, thus: "talaæfingar". Or maybe even "töluæfingar"?
Or how about "málæfingar"? It is really very difficult to
decide without the help of a very comprehensive dictionary.
(which I don't have with me now)

Here is my suggestion:

"Meir um málæfingar"

But I think Gordon is right, that the first goal
should be to _read_ the language well, and build
up a good vocabulary, which is a long and tedious
process. Then, the more you read, the more syntax
you will learn quite automatically, without much
stress.

Not being a native, I certainly cannot guide you in
learning to speak - in fact, I am badly in need of a
good tutor myself! ;)
