Actually, I do not understand everything about these phonethics.
[^h] is a breath that is okay ( a small h superscript in textbooks)
But [^0] is written underneath some letters. Is it a kind of rolling
sound? And here perhaps a redundant question that was explained
before: What is the difference between [i] and [I]?
Also, the u was pronounced like [Y] in MI.
Does that mean that it is a pointed u, like the German ü?

I, for one, should certainly like to see what kinds of things
need to be done with the text in order to make it more archaic.
With respect to Haukur's respelling with ON orthography, I counted
27 letters that had to be changed. But the replacements can all
be summarized under a few rules að -> at, ok -> og, ast -> ask,
ur -> r, rr -> r (some places). Do you know of any other important
changes? Even if Haukur says it is easy, I should also like
to see a phonetic transcript of the ON text. But perhaps I would
learn more if I tried it myself, though I am not suere whether
I'd get everything right the first time around.
