Firstly, if the word doesn't derive from Proto-Germanic, it won't be inherited from PIE. Secondly, OE _hladan_ implies something like PIE *kladH or *klat, though if the final consonant is a suffix different branches may show different suffixes. A Sanskrit root lard- differs significant in at least two consonants, /k/ and /r/, and differs in the final consonant. The Balto-Slavonic cognates adduced fit better.
