Subject: [tied] IE cal- = harbourg ?

Hello
does any links with town name = harbourg
Burdi-gala<>Burdi-cala = Bordeaux
Portus-cale = Lisbonne
Caletum = Calais
may be Kehl too

i found

Latin Callis = path
Germanique Keluz
Middle deutsch Kiel = ship
German Kiel
Anglo Saxon Ceols/Cyulae
Old Norse Kjolr > Köl = vessel
Old Norse Kjalki = sleigh (vessel carriage ?)
French Calanque (shelter)

Try *kala "harbor, shelter", the root of French calanque. There are many others. PUF (Presse Univeritaire Française) has a little book on French Toponyms. I believe it mentions *kala. Portus-cale --Oporto, not Lisbon, is a tautology, if based on *kala.
