Actually <Snotingaha:m> 'the homestead of the Snotingas, the
people called after Snot'; the loss of [s] in [sn] is
attributed to Anglo-Norman influence.

Don't know that one, but Tutbury is in record as:

Either this was originally <(on) Stu:tesbyrig> '(at) Stu:t's
fortified place or manor', with Anglo-Norman loss of initial
[s] in [st], or there were two names for the place that were
eventually conflated. (The other name would have been
<(on) Tuttanbyrig> '(at) Tutta's ...'.
