The striking similarity of the Akkadian supurgillu to superglue leads me to ask if any cuneiform record remains of reducing quince pulp (by heating?) for use as a superior adhesive?
 
I have checked Lisan for safarjal but it gives only: "merde de bouche". Was the quince perhaps chewed before heating?
