After posting my response last night I discovered that Pokorny has *wi
apart, in two, *bHeid to split, and weidH to separate. I've noticed
that PIE has no roots like **weu. I always assumed that if they had
existed they would have dissimilated to *yeu. Perhaps in your
reconstructions *p?eu > *beu or *bHeu since **weu was apparently not
allowed.
