August Leskien, _Handbuch der altbulgarischen (altkirchenslavischen)
Sprache_. The first edition was published in 1871, the most recent one
(eleventh, revised by O.A. Rottmann and A. Hausmann) in 2002
(Heidelberg: Winter). Leskien's classification of Slavic verb stems is
widely known and still generally regarded as standard. It looks
approximately like this (ignoring minor complications and subclasses):
Class I: -e/o- presents
Class II: -ne/o- presents
Class III: -je/o- presents
Class IV: -i-(/-jo-) presents
Class V (residual, with just a few members): athematic presents
