It is not as curious as it sounds, because J2 is a much broader family
than J2e, which is a branch of J2.
J2 probably originates in the Middle East, while E3 probably originates
as far away as the Horn of Africa. However the specific types of J2 and
E3 which are found amongst older European families are quite rare
outside European populations. It is these *branches* of J2 and E3 which
have their highest concentration and diversity in the Balkans. I
understand that even Turkey does not have a high concentration of them.
On the other hand it is possible that your family has an immigrant as a
a distant paternal ancestor.
