1. I think that the Greek Boreas cannot be linked with Albanian
borë : I mean as a PAlb loan in Old Greek : the o in borë is from an
original a: => in Old Greek Times the PAlb a: was a: not o
2. Next: etymologies like :
*beh2-ro 'white' => 'snow'
or like
*bHer-o (Demiraj) 'falling/spreading down' => 'snow'
that go from a Generality to a Particularity are surely wrong ...
3. For the right etymology :) of Albanian borë ~ dëborë you will
need to go to:
3.1 Romanian: zapada 'snow' < Dacian *dz-apa:dara
3.2 Albanian: dëborë < [d/intervocalic>zero; a:>o] Dacian *dz-
aba:da:ra:
3.3 Albanian: borë < [a-/non-stressed > zero; d/intervocalic>zero;
a: >o] Dacian *aba:da:ra:
3.4 and next 'to can find out' the attested Dacian :
Dacian Arco-badara (Ptolemy) 'Snowy passage' (=> my translation)
So Dacians forms like: *abadara ~ *apadara ~ *dz-apadara ~ *dz-
abadara had the meaning 'snow' and were based on *apa: 'water'
