We have:
a) Romanian fuior 'flax/hemp bundle; tow ; ' <-> Aromanian
ful'ior 'id.' <-> Alb. fjollë 'id.' indicates the presence of an l
inside the word that is not the case in fluier :
b) Romanian fluier <-> Aromanian flue'r ; fluearã <-> Alb. fyell
'pipe'
Conclusion: there wasn't any 'internal' l in fluier. So je in
fluier is from an e.
Best Regards,
Marius
Note : Piotr, regarding Alb fl-ll => Alb f<->ll we have in fjollë
the 'Second Example' :) :
Alb. *fuljollë [contraction of non accented u>zero] > *fljollë
[fl<->ll=>f<->ll] > fjollë
To justify why I have started with Alb. initial form *fuljollë
see Aromanian ful'ior (and take into account the l-rothacism in
Common Romanian)
