No, it is not immaterial that some PIE roots begin with *k^e-,
others with *ke- and still others with *kWe-. That constitutes k^ :
k : kW as three lexically distinct phonemes for the IE protolanguage
where they may appear in the same environments in opposition to each
other. That's what Lehmann did not want to accept. That was
obviously a wrong choice.
