About the name Sigri-kneippa. In Norwegian you have the world "kneipe",
definite form "kneipa", used about a place where alchoholic beveridges
are served, and where possibly also prostitution takes place. The
world is an early North German loan-word, I think.

When I see this name, I an immagining an unmarried or widowed lady
living by herself in some cottage or small farm, and earning her
living as a prostitute, and perhaps also serving self-made beer or
liquor to the male inhabitants of the area.

If this asssumption is correct, her living place, would very likely
have got the name Sigri-kneipp-a for the after-time.
