Hello All,

I think that Alb. kordhë 'sword' situation was somehow clarified
(based on its Iranian origin it could entered in Albanian before sec
VII) so it cannot be used as an argument that this transformation
finished later: sec IX-X.
Thanks to all for your help.

Could you help me here with the etymology of other 2 Albanian words
that I could identified showing an rd > rdh in Albanian :

1. Alb çerdhë 'nest' - Sl. c^erda 'herd' ?(but the semantism cannot
fit in my opinion). Other etymology? Opinions?

3. Alb. shkërdhec ? 'barrel'? - here we already have s > sh so here
we can syncronized the loan moment also regarding this transformation
( but we also have a suffix in c).

This will help a lot to can fix the timeframe for Albanian rd > rdh

Thanks a lot,
Marius Alexandru
