Vasmer, reporting on Molè's etymology, cites Khotanese-Saka <ula> (=
Av. <&r&Dwa->) 'high'. Trubachev in his addendum quotes Moszyn'ski's
hypothesis, according to which the Slavic word is somehow related to
Tartar <mogol> and Mari <mugõl'o> 'haystack'.
