Look at this Magyarism: <bolond> "crazy, lunatic, mad"
['bolond]. The Romanianized wide-spread variant is
<bolând> [bo-'lInd]. The second variant (perhaps the
older one), in use esp. in western areas of Transylvania,
is <bolund> [bo-'lund]. ([o] and [u] are much closer.)

It matches big time. "gondolom = gândesc" (with all
main connotations: "I think, methinks, I believe that,
I mean...").
