It's an interesting exercise, but the several stories mentioned recently
give totally the wrong impression. As originally published those stories
were translated by different scholars, and the variations were published
side by side. It was an exercise desigend to show the range of opinion
current (at the time) among PIE scholars. When the websites publish just
one of all the various versions, they seem to suggest a certainty about PIE
that we simply do not have and cannot have.
By all means, go for it, and we'll learn a lot with you as you do it. But
please remember that any final version is only one of several possible ones.
