In Hungarian too:
"pata" ['pO-tO] = "hoof"
"patkó" ['pOt-ko:] = horseshoe (potkov!)
"kovács" (as a family name, also the spelling Kováts, and,
if the bearer is Romanian, Covaci) ['ko-va:tS] = blacksmith
(in Romanian, this word - via Hungarian - has regional
variants such as "covaciul" and "cãuaciul", in both cases
the stress falling on the second syllable).
