I'm afraid discussing St. Cyril's qualities of a
historian [was he a historian after all?!] might be
deemed as off-topic on this mailing-list...

Anyway: in his epoch neither Getae nor Dacians
(i.e. speakers of those ancient languages) lived
any longer there or elsewhere.
