It's about analogy.

First you should learn to quote. I strongly dislike when
someone heavily distorts my intended meaning by misquoting.
I wrote:
"Assimilation and dissimilation are not _necessary_ evolutions
but unlike major phonetical rules they are only _possible_ and
in some conditions _probable_."
Now, take any English dictionary and check out the meaning of
the word "unlike". Then read again the phrase, though I doubt
you'll notice any difference at this point.
Anyway, if your intention is to answer to an idea you clearly
missed, better don't. For the sake of the list.
