I did not quoted your text. I just reproduced the sence I understood.

Assimilation and dissimilation reduced to essence, are simply "rules";
this is why I used the word "rule".
The stylistic flower of " in some conditions " & " unlike major phonetic
rules " is just ( in my eyes) a cautiously way to keep a door open when
you are not 100% sure on what you say.
In so far I did not changed the meaning of your text, but reduced it to
essence. Did I changed the meaning of it?
