Well, I guess I'll just have to tape myself and examine each phoneme.
I swear I'm not using my "intuition".
I'm pretty sure that I do voice English /d/. Even though my French /d/
is "heavier" sounding and definitely voiced in comparison, my English
/d/ still remains voiced. And again, I know what a voiceless /d/ sounds
and feels like in my mouth since, again, I use a voiceless /d/ in
Mandarin. I'm not going by intuition. I _can_ tell the difference of
all three very well.
