*(H)n.gni- is OK, though not very widely attested. I suppose *peh2wr. (or rather its collective *ph2wo:r in its augmentative capacity) could be personified (and "animatised") easily. The corresponding composition form would've been *ph2wr.-, at least in theory, but a connecting vowel is actually inserted e.g. in Greek (cf. puro-gene:s 'originating from fire', an attested word).
